More than 2000 veterans and members of families of martyrs were provided with psychological support by psychologists who came to Azerbaijan from Türkiye at the invitation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), said Selcuk Demirtash, leader of the 20 psychologists staff, APA reports.

According to him, psychological support shows extremely good results: “We came to Baku with a staff of 25 people in January 2021 after the war. During this time veterans and martyr families in Baku, Ganja, Sumgait, Lankaran ad Gabala were provided with psychological therapy. Different types of symptoms of trauma from the war were observed in patients. Most of the symptoms consist of insomnia, headaches, waking up in a stupor, aggression, and behaviors that harm one’s self and their familiars. We observed that most of the symptoms have passed in the patients coming for check-ups after the first examination. Practice shows that after one or two sessions insomnia and headache pass in applied patients”.

Selcuk Demirtash noted that current sessions are planned for 6 months, if there is any application the period can be extended.
