Azerbaijan's migration policy has been developed in line with international practice, Head of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov said during a media tour on the topic of "Media Awareness in the Field of Migration," APA reports.
He said that one of the main priorities is the promotion of legal migration.
"Within this framework, opportunities are being expanded for foreigners wishing to enter the country through legal channels, procedures are being simplified, and services are being made more accessible. This includes expanding the scope of the visa-free regime, simplifying border crossing procedures, and developing electronic services. Currently, Azerbaijan offers visa-free entry to citizens of 17 countries. Citizens of 89 countries can obtain an electronic visa through the ASAN Visa system, while citizens of 11 countries can receive a visa directly upon arrival at the airport.
In addition, in recent months, steps have been taken to introduce visa-free travel with a number of countries. These include Japan, Oman, the Republic of Korea, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as several other states," he said.
