South Korean President Lee Jae-myung will hold talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Seoul on Thursday about the economic cooperation between the two countries, APA reports citing Yonhap.
Lee and Merz, who will be making his first visit to South Korea since taking office, are set to hold a summit, issue a joint press statement and have an official dinner, Seoul's presidential office said. The pair will talk about cooperation in batteries, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), the defense and arms industry, and regional and international issues, the report said.
It added that Merz's two-day visit will also include his attendance at the 19th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in Seoul.
