Several more families who had been temporarily settled in various parts of the country, mainly in hostels, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings, returned to their homeland today.

In the first stage, 28 families consisting of 125 people were resettled in the village of Tazabina in Khojaly, and 33 families, or 122 people, were resettled in the village of Khanyurdu.

Presenting the keys to the apartments to the families, Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankandi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, said that extensive construction and reconstruction work is currently underway in the liberated territories. All conditions have been created for the comfortable settlement of former internally displaced persons in the villages of Tazabina and Khanyurdu. The villages are provided with uninterrupted electricity, natural gas, drinking water, and high-speed internet.

According to S. Gahramanov, ensuring employment for villagers is also in focus of attention. The process of relocation to villages will continue in stages.

In their speeches, former internally displaced persons (IDPs) spoke about the spiritual comfort and great joy of returning to their homeland, and thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the care they received from the state.

They also expressed their gratitude to the Azerbaijani Army, heroic soldiers and officers, who liberated lands from occupation, and prayed for mercy for our martyrs who lost their lives on this path.

Note that the villages of Tazabina and Khanyurdu were occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces in 1992. As a result of local anti-terrorist operations carried out by the Azerbaijani Army on September 19–20, 2023, both villages were liberated from occupation.
