A presentation ceremony of the book titled “Hate Speech and Falsification of Historical Facts in Armenian Secondary Schools,” prepared by the Center for Strategic Communications (CSC) in Azerbaijani and English, was held, APA reports.

The book is dedicated to the analysis of textbooks, methodological guides, supplementary literature and other educational materials used in Armenian schools.

Opening the event, CSC Deputy Chairman and project manager Ali Abdullayev said the purpose of the study was to identify instances of hate speech, the portrayal of ethnic and national groups, possible distortions of historical facts, and the formation of stereotypes in these materials.

“The research was conducted on the basis of materials found in educational institutions that operated in Karabakh. Textbooks, posters, teaching aids and archival materials were collected and systematically analyzed. According to the findings of the report, some of the analyzed materials contain elements aimed at creating an ‘enemy image,’ intensifying ethnic confrontation, and presenting historical events for political purposes. During the study, nearly 3,000 cases were identified in more than 1,000 materials. These cases are included in the book through QR codes. The authors recommend reassessing educational content in line with international standards and applying more objective approaches,” he said.

Speaking at the event, Jabir Bahramov, Head of the Western Azerbaijan History Department at the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), addressed aspects of historical narratives contained in Armenian educational materials that he said contradict a scientific approach.

“Some content regarding the portrayal of Azerbaijanis and the historical heritage of the region is based on incorrect interpretations,” Bahramov noted.

Member of Parliament Rizvan Nabiyev, Chairman of the Board of the National NGO Forum Ramil Isgandarli, and Fuad Abdullayev, a representative of the Center of Analysis of International Relations, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of presenting the book to an international audience and opening it for academic discussion.

As part of the event, a special exhibition prepared by the CSC was displayed. The exhibition visually presented examples of hate speech and alleged historical falsifications found in Armenian textbooks.
