An opening ceremony of a Twinning project entitled "Strengthening services in the field of hydrometeorology and climate in the Republic of Azerbaijan", financed by the European Union, has been held, APA reports.
The project is implemented with joint cooperation among National Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Finland, Lithuania, and France, which are partner bodies of the EU member states.
The implementation of the project started on September 1, 2022, and will be implemented for 24 months.
The main objective of the project is to support the improvement of the resilience and adaptability of Azerbaijan, its population, and economic sectors to climate-related threats and natural disasters, and to improve the service capacity of the National Hydrometeorological Service in accordance with international standards and best practices to meet national needs.
