It is planned to allocate 4 billion 873 million manats from the state budget to strengthen social protection for socially vulnerable groups of the population and to cover social welfare expenditures, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that 465 million manats will be allocated for targeted state social assistance, while 285 million manats will be allocated for the social protection of former internally displaced persons.
In addition, 41.8 million manats will be spent from the state budget to cover education and scholarship expenses for students (18.5 thousand people) whose monthly income is below the subsistence minimum and who belong to the following categories: those who have lost one or both parents or are deprived of parental care; former internally displaced persons; children of individuals who were killed or became disabled in defense of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity; holders of the title “War Veteran”; persons with disabilities due to a 61–100 percent impairment of bodily functions; persons under the age of 18 with disabilities; members of martyr families; as well as students of vocational education institutions under the age of 20 whose parents have disabilities due to an 81–100 percent impairment of bodily functions.
