Measures taken for the rehabilitation and reintegration of victims related to human trafficking have been disclosed, APA reports.
This was stated in the “Annual Report of the National Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking,” which was discussed at a joint meeting of the Human Rights, Legal Policy and State Building Committees of the Milli Majlis.
It was noted that in 2025, each victim was paid a one-time allowance of 700 manats, and they were provided with shelter, medical, social, psychological and legal assistance.
In addition, 16 victims were directed to vocational courses, assistance was provided in employment for 9 persons, obtaining identity cards for 6 persons, treatment for 1 person, receiving social assistance for 11 persons, and returning 23 persons to their families.
The report noted that human trafficking mainly spreads in regions where poverty, unemployment, lack of education and information, corruption and social problems exist.
It was emphasized that in Azerbaijan, national and moral values, the strength of the family institution, and comprehensive measures implemented by the state play an important role in combating human trafficking. The report stated that human trafficking crimes account for only 0.6% of crimes recorded in the country and that this unlawful act is not considered characteristic for Azerbaijan.
