At present, an increase in seasonal acute respiratory viruses, the severe course of influenza and other infections, people's delayed visits to doctors, and weakened immunity may be causes of pneumonia, said the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health in response to APA's inquiry.
It was reported that the concentration of people in enclosed and poorly ventilated areas relatively accelerates the spread of airborne infections within the population: “Compliance with sanitary rules and maintaining collective immunity are of great importance in limiting the spread of infection. In particular, individuals belonging to risk groups are advised to avoid places of mass gathering.”
“The isolation of individuals with the first clinical signs of the disease plays the most effective role in preventing chain transmission cases. The epidemiological situation regarding infectious diseases in the republic is under control,” the center stated.
