This year's fatwa of the Council of Qazis of the Caucasian Muslims' Office states that this year, the day of Eid al-Fitr was confirmed as May 27 by the unanimous fatwa of the Council of Religious Heads of the Turkic States Organization adopted on May 18, 2026. In accordance with Sharia, the Qurban slaughter can last for 3 days starting from May 27.
Eid prayers will be performed in mosques on May 27. Eid prayers will be performed at 8:00 a.m. in the Ajderbay Mosque in Baku, and at 9:00 a.m. in the Tazapir Mosque.
The fatwa states that sheep are usually preferred for sacrifice. However, goats, cows and camels can also be chosen for sacrifice. Everyone is free in the distribution of that meat, but according to the advice of the Prophet, helping the needy is closer to the spirit of religion.
There will be non-working 5 consecutive days - May 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 - in connection with Eid al-Adha and Independence Day.
