2.2 Million People to Study in Azerbaijan
September 15 marks the Day of Knowledge in Azerbaijan. The first day of classes for the new academic year is beginning in the country's general education institutions.
A total of 2.2 million people will be studying in Azerbaijan during the 2026–2027 academic year. Of these, more than 1.7 million will be students in general education institutions.
15 Schools Opening in Liberated Territories
New educational institutions are also opening this year in the territories liberated from occupation.
Plans are in place to commission 15 educational institutions in these areas.
Over 500,000 Students Starting Classes in Baku
According to the Baku City Education Department, more than 500,000 students in the capital will attend school during the new academic year.
It has been reported that over 504,000 students will be studying in general education institutions under the jurisdiction of the Department; of these, more than 39,000 are first-grade students.
First Lesson Dedicated to the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture"
The first lesson of the new academic year will be dedicated to the theme "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture."
The first bell will ring in schools, and thousands of children will be introduced to school life for the first time.
