The Saudi-led Arab coalition will continue providing operational support to Yemen’s armed forces in their fight against the Houthis to restore control over Yemeni territory, APA reports.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said the coalition continues to provide full operational support to Yemeni forces and stands alongside the country’s legitimate government and people.
Al-Maliki said deliberate and systematic Houthi attempts to attack Saudi cities, including Mecca and Medina, as well as commercial vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, require appropriate measures to protect the kingdom’s security and sovereignty.
He added that Saudi Arabia has the right to defend its sovereignty and take operational measures to deter the Houthis and end their activities.
