The UAE has handed over 17 Iranian prisoners to Iranian officials, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
Iran’s Judiciary announced that, as a result of negotiations in the legal, political and security fields, 17 Iranian citizens held in prisons in the UAE had been returned to the country.
According to the information, 3 of the prisoners released and returned to Iran are women and 14 are men.
It should be noted that yesterday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei welcomed the release of the Iranian prisoners by the UAE.
Baghaei said that the development was the result of negotiations held with the UAE side on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.
