"Discussions must be held regarding the role artificial intelligence should play in Azerbaijan's education system and how it will impact education. Artificial intelligence is one of the topics on the agenda today; it is among the most controversial and uncertain subjects," Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev said at the 7th International Forum on New Challenges in Education, held under the slogan "More Educated Future", APA reports.
The Minister stated that the idea of artificial intelligence replacing teachers is a cliché:
"Artificial intelligence is already a reality; we cannot deny that. Our primary focus is on how we can utilize artificial intelligence and benefit from it to move forward."
He noted that artificial intelligence could also assist with assessment:
"Effective use of artificial intelligence can play a role in student assessment. This could lead to more objective evaluations and, at the same time, accelerate the process. Therefore, I believe artificial intelligence will create unique opportunities for us in this regard. However, to achieve this, we must learn how to use it."
