Azerbaijani Health Ministry: CoronaVac vaccine to be injected in Azerbaijan is 91.25% effective

“Currently, 7 vaccines around the world have passed the third phase,” said Teymur Musayev, Head of the Health Organization Department of the Ministry of Health at the briefing of the task Force under the cabinet of Ministers, APA reports

T. Musayev noted vaccines are injected in two stages: “ Azerbaijan participates in the COVAX platform, as well as in bilateral agreements on obtaining vaccines. Azerbaijan will receive 2 million doses of CoronaVac vaccine from Sinovac within COVAX platform. At the same time, negotiations are underway with Sinovac company. In total, 4 million doses of vaccine have been ordered from Sinovac. The vaccines will first be brought to Turkey and then to Azerbaijan after passing certain laboratory stages there. Sinovac's CoronaVac vaccine is 91.25 percent effective.”
