Azerbaijanâ€™s Minister of Emergency Situations calls on population to observe safety rules while using heaters and stoves

Unfortunately some people do not observe the safety rules and use the heating facilities not meeting the international standardsâ€, said Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov while taking stance on recent explosions caused by the gas leakage, APA reports.
Minister underlined that they focused on awareness of people for the purpose of using heaters according to technical indicators. Heydarov called on people to observer safety rules for their health and security.
Minister mentioned that the meeting was held with participation of Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov, representatives of Azerigaz, local executive powers and Ministry of Emergency Situations and noted that every body has responsibility in this issue.
â€œCitizens bear main responsibility for this issue. Neither commissioner nor officials of Ministry of Emergency Situations participate in the process when people buy heaters and stoves from the shop and install them in houses. People should observe safety rules whilst installing stoves. Investigations found out that people did not observe safety rules while installing stoves in bathrooms and houses and it caused blast. Every day people should control whether stoves were turned off or not. There are reports that several places were left without gas. It occurs not only in Azerbaijan, but whole world during winter months. If gas supply is restored, people should check whether heaters were turned off or not. We also control this issue. People will give correct reaction to announcements aired via TV Channels and newspapers and will observer safety rules while using heaters and stoves,â€ he added.
