I hope it will develop the regions of Azerbaijan”, said Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Fuzuli Alekberov expressing his opinion on the impact of world financial crisis on the Azerbaijan’s employment policy, APA reports. The minister said rural people were coming to the capital because of economic activeness in Baku. “If the infrastructure of the regions develops it will force the people to return home”.

Alekberov said global financial crisis forced some enterprises in Azerbaijan sent their workers on mandatory leave, but nearly 3000 workers have already returned to their offices. There are nearly 52100 enterprises and 156 of them have above 1000 staff members. “Last year the ministry established direct contact with 3463 enterprises. Only 2000 of 244 000 workers were forced to end their labor contracts. More people were sent on mandatory leave. Nearly 3000 laid off workers have already been reinstated. Most of those enterprises are export organizations. They invited their workers again because received orders from abroad”.
