Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva–APA. The State Commission for Student Admission, following the measures carried out for improvement of preliminary examinations and marking mechanism, made changes to the Master’s Program admission rules as well, the Commission’s Deputy Chairman Namig Babayev said at a press conference on Tuesday, APA reports. Babayev said preliminary examinations for Master’s program admission would have two steps in academic 2009-2010 year. The first step will take place later in April or early in May and the second step – later in June. The bachelors will be tested at the first step for their logistic, informative and foreign language knowledge and those, who will meet all requirements by the State Commission for Student Admission, will pass to the second step, where they will take professional examination. The contest will be held on the total results of the two steps.

Babayev said for the first time the bachelors would test their informative skills through the test examinations. “The Master’s Program requires from the students to constantly conduct researches, to follow the novelties in the relevant field in the world. It is impossible to realize it without informative and foreign language skills. Therefore the commission took it into account and decided to include the testing of informative skills into the preliminary examinations”.

The commission’s deputy chairman said the Master professions were qualified within the admission programs, which would be published in the “Master” ’s next edition.
