Kura-Araz environmental monitoring results announced

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva –APA. National Environmental Monitoring Department of the Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources announced results of monitoring conducted in December in trans-border rivers of Kura and Araz and their trans-border branches. Press service of the ministry told APA trans-border pollution of Kura River in Georgia territory with phenol and copper compounds was identified during the monitoring. Industrial, agricultural and domestic wastes to the river in Georgia and Armenia caused its pollution.
Araz River trans-bordered with Armenia was also polluted with phenol and copper compounds, as well as with biogenic substances.
Oxygen regime of the water was within the sanitary norms ranging 6.91-7.28 mg/l.

THE OPERATION IS BEING PERFORMED
