Gaziantep –APA. Turkey’s Gaziantep expected to become twinned cities with Baku. The issue was put on agenda during the Prof. Elchin Iskanderzadeh’s visit to Gaziantep, APA reports quoting the Turkish newspapers. Elchin Iskanderzadeh met with the city municipal authorities and expressed wishes to establish friendly cultural relationship between Baku and Gaziantep. “Gaziantep is the Turkish city not yielded to Istanbul or Ankara and even leaves those cities behind in some spheres. We wish strengthening of scientific, literary and cultural cooperation between Baku and Gaziantep”. Head of the Gaziantep municipality Asil Guzelbey said there were all grounds for the two cities to become twinned. “Antep dialect is close to Azerbaijani dialect. I worked voluntarily in Azerbaijan as a doctor in 1992. When I spoke in Istanbul dialect many people did not understand me, but when I spoke in Antep dialect everybody understood what I said”.
