Parliament rejects bill on “Reproductive health”

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Discussion of the bill on “Reproductive health” continued in today’s sitting of the Parliament. APA reports that the parliamentarians expressed their views on the bill. Deputy Health Minister Senan Karimov underlined the necessity of adopting the law. Deputy Minister said the adoption of the law on “Reproductive health” could help prevent maternal and infant deaths in Azerbaijan.
Some of the parliamentarians supported the adoption of the law, others objected to it. Speaker Ogtay Asadov said regretfully that the opinion of the public had not been asked before discussing the bill in the parliament. Asadov said the bill should be prepared more perfectly and other commissions of the Parliament should consider the issue. Speaker said the bill would be discussed again in spring session of the Parliament.
