Thalassemia Center to be opened in Baku near future

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The Thalassemia Center will be opened in Baku in the next few days, Deputy Health Minister Elsever Agayev told journalists, APA reports. He said the center was built on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The deputy minister said the center would address problems of the people suffered from thalassemia and other heritable blood diseases. For the first time in Azerbaijan the bone marrow transplantation center will work within the Thalassemia Center. Turkey’s TIKA organization will provide trainings of personnel of the center. The Deputy Minister said six specialists had already been sent to Turkey for education.
