Staff of Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations celebrates its professional holiday

Baku. Rashad Suleymanovâ€“APA. Staff of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations celebrates its professional holiday on December 16. The Ministryâ€™s top officials visited Heydar Aliyevâ€™s memorial in the Alley of Honor and Alley of Martyrs on this occasion, APA reports. In his address to the event held at the ministry, Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov spoke about the activity and successes of the organization, as well as about the works done in the past period. The Minister said equipments and techniques used for elimination of emergency situations were purchased abroad and brought to the country. Administrative buildings for the firefighting brigades, as well as other structures of the ministry were constructed in the regions. Elaboration of some legislative acts, including the â€œNational Conception on Elimination of Emergency Situationsâ€ was completed. Agreements on cooperation with the relevant organizations of Russia, Belarus, Turkey and other countries were signed in the past period.

Kamaladdin Heydarov said fire security measures were strengthened while 179 people were rescued during 2323 fire incidents this year and more than 18 facilities were involved in the fire insurance and preventive measures were taken against the fire threat in 2138 facilities. $1.5 million deals were reached with Germany, the United States, Russia and other countries for purchase of modern equipments.

Then personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations distinguished in the services were awarded with prizes and different ranks. At the end the participants addressed the head of state.
