Kamaladdin Heydarov: â€œWe are planning to strengthen material and technical basis of the Ministry of Emergency Situationsâ€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayevâ€“APA. â€œThe Ministry of Emergency Situations has been functioning for almost three years. Both legal and material-technical basis of the ministry has been strengthened in the past periodâ€, Minister of Emergency Situations General-Colonel Kamaladdin Heydarov told journalists, APA reports. He said much work had been done for further improvement of the ministryâ€™s activity in the past period. â€œFive of eight regional centers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are already ready to put in operation. Our institution in Nakhchivan has also been provided with the necessary material and technical basis. The work is going on toward improvement of the personnelâ€™s professional skills and our experts participate in the training abroad to get more experience. We organize different trainings in the country as well. We have already conducted large-scale exercises in Sumgayit and Baku Subway. We have plans to strengthen the material and technical basis of the ministry in 2009â€.

Kamaladdin Heydarov said new building was considered to be built for the Crisis Management Center: â€œWe consider to complete the construction of this building by the middle of 2010. The Crisis Management Center will manage the emergency situations and to assist other institutions in these situationsâ€. The minister said formation of the Central Office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was completed fully and formation of other institutions under the ministry was continuing yet.

Touching upon the production of technical equipments for the ministry in Azerbaijan, Kamaladdin Heydarov said spare parts of these equipments had already been started to be produced in local enterprises. â€œLocal enterprises started to produce not the technical equipments, but their spare parts. According to the order of the head of state, Azerbaijan is purchasing only the cutting-edge equipments. It is impossible to produce such high standard equipments in Azerbaijan. But some spare parts of those equipments are possible to be produced in the local engineering enterprises and the work is going on toward thisâ€.
