Academy Vice President: “There is no organization in Azerbaijan to provide scientific strategy”

Kamala Guliyeva–APA. “Azerbaijan has no scientific rights at present, because there is no scientific and education legislation”, said Vice President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Geology Akif Alizadeh at the press conference on Thursday, APA reports. He said Milli Majlis, Azerbaijani Parliament has not discussed the law on sciences yet. “The law should be adopted immediately. We would like that there will be scientific development doctrine and scientific prognosis program in Azerbaijan. Alizadeh said there was no organization in the country at present to provide scientific strategy. “Ministry of Sciences and Technologies and Sciences, Technology and Education Council under the President should be established in Azerbaijan. We face difficulties in involving of young scientists and lack of human resources in the scientific area is increasing year by year. Average age of the doctors of sciences in the Institute of Geology is 68 and PhD – 55. We propose to establish joint scientific laboratories with Mastership Program in the Academy of Sciences and with the academy at the university departments.
