Chairwoman of Parliamentâ€™s Commission: There is no need to change the law on â€œFreedom of religionâ€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. â€œNo religious group, or Wahhabists can be troubled in Azerbaijan. This is reality. Everybody has the right to ensure his freedom of religion in the country,â€ Chairwoman of the Parliamentâ€™s Standing Commission on Human Rights Rabiyyat Aslanova told APA. She said it was not right to assess the activity of a religious group as fright.

Rabiyyat Aslanova said there was no ground to worry that the number of a religious group members might increase and pose threat to the country.
â€œThere has never been a religious confrontation in Azerbaijan,â€ she said.
Touching on the explosion in Abu Bakr Mosque Rabiyyat Aslanova regarded it as disrespect to the religious men.
â€œThe offender should be found,â€ she said.

As regards re-adopting or changing the law on â€œFreedom of Religionâ€, the Chairwoman of the Commission said there was no need for it.
â€œThe items in this law ensure normal activity of religious communities in Azerbaijan,â€ she said.
