Chairman of Azerbaijanâ€™s State Committee on Work with Religious Associations receives Executive Director of American Jewish Committee

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov has received the delegation headed by Executive Director of American Jewish Committee David Allen Harris. The State Committee told APA that Orujov gave information about the religious situation in the country, said that Jews had been living in Azerbaijan for many centuries and there had never been discrimination among peoples and nations.
â€œAll religions are equal in Azerbaijan. 8 out of 32 non-Islamic religious communities registered in Azerbaijan are Jewish communities,â€ he said.
The guests said that atmosphere of tolerance in Azerbaijan could serve as an example not only for the region, but the whole world.
