UN Secretary General to meet Sheikulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh

Ban will meet Sheikulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, head of Caucasian Muslims Office. Pashazadeh has visited Moscow for this purpose. Patriarch Alexius II, Yona Metzger, Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Arthur Schneier, President of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation, Jukka Paarma, Archbishop of Turku and spiritual head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, Plenipotentiaries of Vatican and other religious men will participate in the meting. The meeting will discuss the establishment of the Council for Interreligious Dialogue under UN, role of religion in the society, importance and prospects of Interreligious dialogue in the peaceful solution to the conflicts, establishment of Working Group on Interreligious dialogue.
Pashazadeh will make a report at the meeting.
Pashazadeh and Patriarch Alexius II, co-chairs of CIS Interreligious Council made a report on the establishment of Council for Interreligious Dialogue under UN in World Summit of Religious Leaders in Moscow, 2006.
