Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh addresses world leaders and international organizations on 19th anniversary of Khojaly genocide

According to APA, the address reads that the tragedy of Azerbaijani town of Khojaly, victim of bloody terror in the Caucasus, has not been denounced by the history yet, it has not been condemned by the world community and no political assessment has been given to this event yet: â€œWe would like to remind to the world community that 19 years ago, on February 26, over 10 000 peaceful civilians of Khojaly were brutally attacked, hundreds of people were killed, there was no mercy even for women, elders and children, bodies were insulted. Indifference toward the Armeniaâ€™s barbarism against Azerbaijan should be assessed as inspiring terrorism. Armenian aggressors extended their invasion plans and occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands, took thousands of peaceful civilians hostage, ruined settlements, mosques and cemeteries in the occupied territories and destroyed all material and intangible monumentsâ€.

The Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board said in his address that Armenian extremists have not been punished for their crimes yet: â€œDespite UN resolutions demanding withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, Armenia doesnâ€™t intend to leave its aggressive policy. While the scale of work done toward the international recognition of Khojaly genocide is extending, our hopes for fair decision by the history justice are also increasing. We address the world community once again on the eve of this mourning day and call them to be attentive to the tragedy of the Azerbaijani people, to give principal legal and political assessment and to recognize Khojaly tragedy as genocide, to support fair solution to Karabakh conflict and to support justice. May Allah help us to differ right and wrong and be merciful to us! Amen!â€
