The rules regarding the temporary stay of Russian citizens in Azerbaijan have been amended, Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decision in this regard, APA reports.
According to the decision, Russian citizens and individuals who do not have citizenship but are permanently residing in the Russian Federation, who enter Azerbaijan without requiring a visa, can stay in the country for no more than 90 days within a calendar year.
This decision will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
Note that a few days ago, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that, based on a series of amendments to the relevant legislation of the Russian Federation, starting from January 1, 2025, the temporary stay of foreign citizens in Russia will be limited to a total of 90 days within a calendar year. He also mentioned that according to the new rules, foreign citizens must register at their place of residence within 7 working days of crossing the Russian state border.
For comparison, under the current rules, the allowed stay is 90 days within a 180-day period, and 180 days within a year.
