Speed limits will be introduced on toll roads in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
This is reflected in proposed amendments to the Law on Road Traffic discussed at a meeting of the Milli Majlis.
Under the draft amendments, separate speed regulations are proposed for toll motorways. For passenger cars and freight vehicles with a permitted maximum weight of up to 3.5 tons operating outside residential areas, the speed limit is proposed to be set at no more than 130 kilometers per hour.
For other buses, passenger cars towing trailers, and freight vehicles with a permitted maximum weight exceeding 3.5 tons, the maximum speed limit is proposed to be set at no more than 90 kilometers per hour.
The draft was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
