Minister: Georgia actively cooperates with Azerbaijan in development of Middle Corridor

Georgia is actively cooperating with other countries participating in the Middle Corridor, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and China, on issues related to the development of the corridor and increasing its competitiveness, Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili said in an interview with Rustavi 2 TV channel, APA's local bureau reports.

According to her, strengthening Georgia's role in the Middle Corridor is of great importance for the country.

The minister noted that strengthening Georgia's function as a transit and logistics hub between Asia and Europe is one of the government's main priorities.

Kvrivishvili added that the Georgian government has allocated significant resources for the modernization of the railways, which has made it possible to double the volume of freight turnover, increase railway mobility, and shorten cargo transportation times.
