“The East-West Highway, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Tbilisi Dry Port, and the Anaklia deep-sea port project strengthen Georgia’s role in the Middle Corridor," said the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at an event dedicated to International Customs Day, APA’s local bureau reports.
He stated that Georgia’s geopolitical position has turned the country into a natural gateway at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.
“Georgia has become a reliable base for seven landlocked countries. Our country provides those countries with access to global trade routes. Our goal is to turn Georgia into a multifunctional regional hub that will bring prosperity to our citizens and partners. This strategy is based on large-scale infrastructure projects,” Kobakhidze added.
