The 83rd meeting of the Railway Transport Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states was held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
The main topics of the discussions were the activity of the CIS railway network in the first nine months of 2025, the development of international passenger transportation, the formation of freight and container trains for international transportation, the development of international transport corridors, the international freight transportation tariff policy for 2026, financing, scientific research and development programs and other issues.
The participants emphasized the importance of increasing transparency and synchronization in logistics processes across the region, and noted that the coordination of the tariff policy for 2026 is of strategic importance in terms of competition in international freight transportation and optimization of transit flows.
At the end of the event, the protocol of the meeting was signed.
