In January–October of this year, 198.3 million tons of cargo were transported by economic entities operating in the transport sector in Azerbaijan, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
According to the information, this is 2.3% more compared to the same period last year.
Of the cargo, 3.9% was transported by sea, 7% by railway, 0.2% by air, 61.5% by road transport, and 27.4% by pipeline.
The volume of cargo transported by non-state sector vehicles increased by 3.7%, and the share of this sector in the total volume of transported cargo amounted to 79.9%.
In January–October, transporters in the country served 1,785 million passengers. This is 5.3% more in annual comparison.
Of the passengers, 89% were transported by road, 10.3% by metro, and the remaining part by other types of transport.
