Design work is underway to introduce a tram from Mehdiabad to the "28 May" metro station, said Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), at a roundtable dedicated to the implementation of the “2025–2030 State Program for improving transport infrastructure in Baku and its surrounding areas” for the past year, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that work has been carried out regarding the restoration of the tram line: “An initial technical and economic feasibility document for introducing a tram line from Mehdiabad settlement to the ‘28 May’ metro station is already ready, and design work is being carried out. Taking into account that the tram line will pass along the route, the shape of the road cross-section within ‘Sea Breeze’ has also been agreed upon,” he said.
