Azerbaijan to start construction of 3 roads in liberated territories this year

In 2023, Sugovushan-Sarsang reservoir-Gozlukorpu-Kalbajar (length 80 km), Aghdara-Aghdam (35.5 km), the road connecting the 40th kilometer of the Barda-Aghdam highway with Asgaran settlement (18 km) and Shusha-Lachin (41 km) reconstruction of highways has already started, Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads said during the Collegium meeting dedicated to the results of the activities of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads in 2023 and the tasks ahead in 2024, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, in 2024, it is planned to start the reconstruction of the highways Aghdam-Asgaran-Khojaly-Khankandi-Shusha (34 km), Tartar-Aghdara (24.2 km) and Fuzuli-Khojavand-Aghdam (55.7 km).

Also, during the reporting period, the streets and roads of Lachin City, with a total length of 55.8 km, were restored by constructing an asphalt-concrete coating.

Stating that the construction and reconstruction of highways in Azerbaijan are increasing, Saleh Mammadov noted that a total of 881.7 km of highways, avenues, and streets were built, reconstructed, and repaired in 2023.
