Today, the technical assistance provided under the decarbonization project presented by “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC within the framework of its partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is aimed at several outcomes, all of which are aligned with how ADY aims to be a railway company in the future, Cindy Tiangco, Director of the Developing Sectors Department at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to her, within the framework of technical assistance, not only innovative solutions for improving railway operations will be considered, but also the possibilities of producing renewable energy using existing assets and efficiently using this energy for the company’s own needs.
“In addition, special attention will be paid to energy efficiency measures and strengthening capacity. This is because the goal of our technical assistance is for the company or national projects to be able to develop and implement them independently. ADB supports capacity building in this process and helps ADY integrate international best practices into its operations,” Cindy Tiangco noted.
