St. Petersburg to host next round of discussion on the North-South Project

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov- APA-Economics. Railroad officials will come together in St. Petersburg on November 25-26 to discuss a final draft of the feasibility study and business plan for Astara-Gezvin-Resht rail link in Iran as part of the North-South Project, said Azerbaijan State Railways Company (ADDY).
According to the information, Azerbaijan will be represented in the meeting by ADDY Deputy Chairman Igbal Huseynov.
Heads of railways of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan signed a trilateral memorandum on mutual understanding on March 29 on the conditions for building the Gazvin-Rasht-Astara rail line, which is part of the International North-South Transport Corridor.
Russia, Iran and India launched negotiations on establishment of the North-South Corridor in September, 2000 and final agreement was reached on May 11, 2002. Azerbaijan joined the project in 2005.
According to the information, Azerbaijan will be represented in the meeting by ADDY Deputy Chairman Igbal Huseynov.
