Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan State Railways Company has progressed in computerization of ticket sales in the railway stations, said Nadir Azmammadov, Press Secretary of the Company.
He added there will be fundamental changes in ticket sales.
“A passenger will be able to get a one-way and a round-trip ticket at the station in 2009. this service will first be available in Boyuk-Kesik-Gandja route. Then, this service will be available in Baku-Yalama, Berde-Yevlakh-Hajigabul-Balakan and Baku-Horadiz routes. The advantage is that a passenger will not need to come to Baku to get a ticket for Baku-Tbilisi or Baku-Moscow trains. There will be e-ticketing,” he added.
Started in 1997, e-ticket sales is slated for completion in 2010.
The advantage of this system is that ticket sellers can easily get updated information about the reserved and sold seats through the network.
Established in 1880, Azerbaijan State Railways Company operates 171 stations across the country.
