Azerbaijan kicks off three international construction exhibitions

Elkhan Asadov, Deputy Chief of the State Agency for Construction Safety Control under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, said that residential buildings of 1.6 million square meters in total were constructed in Azerbaijan in 2007 given the figure was 470 000 square meters in 2000.
He said Azerbaijan left behind all other former USSR states in terms of the scope of construction.
Edward Strachan, Regional Director of ITE Group Plc for CIS Countries, added that this year’s exhibition has brought together 250 companies from 20 countries, including Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Denmark, China, Egypt, Austria etc.
Besides several national stands, Italy’s Teramo Chamber of Commerce and Belarus’ Ministry of Architecture and Construction showcased their national stands for the first time.
Along with BakuBuild-2008, the 3rd Caspian International Real Estate Exhibition (CaspianRealty 2008) and the 6th Caspian International Exhibition Furniture, Interiors and Design (Caspian MebelExpo- 2008) also started in Baku. The exhibitions will be wrapped up on October 25.
