Construction works increased 55% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The cost of construction works by building companies reached AZN 2 115.3 million in Azerbaijan during January-August, up 55.1% on the same period last year.
Of this, new constructions accounted for 77%, leaving 13.5% to reconstruction & enhancement works, 4.3% to repair and 5.2% to other construction works, said the State Statistical Committee.
Works worth AZN 1 574.5 million were fulfilled by private sector and works worth AZN 540.8 million by state sector.
The average salary of construction workers was AZN 398.7 and nominal salary of works employed by large firms earned AZN 459 a month.
