Transportation by rail declines 1% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. 18.6 million tons of cargo was transported by rail in Azerbaijan during January-August, a 1% decline on the same period last year.
The State Statistical Committee said that wagon loading a day fell 5.2% and unloading increased 9.6% over this period.
Wagon loading a day for northbound routes fell 10.5%, for westbound routes decreased 10.1% and for southbound routes rose 12.6%.
In total AZN 153.7 million was generated in the country’s transportation sector, up 15.9% on a year earlier.
There was 15.8% rise in incomes from rail transportation, 19.1% in sea transportation and 13.6% in road transportation.
