Cargo transport jumped by 10%, passenger traffic by 8% in Azerbaijan section of TRACECA in January

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. 4.1 million tons of cargo and 18.5 million people were carried through Azerbaijan part of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) in January this year.

Cargo transport jumped by 9.5%, passenger traffic jumped by 7.6% on year-on-year basis.

Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that 38.5% of shipments were transported by rail, 44.4% by road and 17.1% by sea.

Shipments via the corridor accounted for 27.3% of the total transportation in the country.
