Trial starts in case of those accused of accident in Baku Athletesâ€™ Village

Personal details of the accused were specified at the preliminary hearing presided over by judge Javid Huseynov.

According to the judge, those affected in the accident don’t take part in the hearing and they were communicated by correspondence. The hearing will be resumed after the correspondence is reviewed.

The hearing was adjourned till January 15.

On 11 June 2015, the Austrian synchronized swimmers – Vanessa Sahinovic and Luna Pajer got in a traffic accident on the territory of the transport depot in the Athletes’ Village in Baku.

Vali Ahmadov, whose shuttle bus struck the Austrian athletes in Baku, the deputy head of the State Road Traffic Service Huseyn Salamov and camera operator of "Safe City Service" Elchin Hasanov were detained over the accident.

Adviser of Department of Passenger Transportation of the State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Transport, Farid Amiraslanov was also detained, but no preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.
