Penitentiary Service: Five prisoners at jail #17 injured themselves refusing to abide by the law

Baku – APA. On November 13, five prisoners at jail #17 under the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service put forward illegal demands. The operational group of the Penitentiary Service immediately arrived at the site, thoroughly explained prisoners their rights and duties and demanded them to abide by the discipline, the public relations department of the Penitentiary Service told APA.

According to information, the five prisoners didn’t draw a lesson from these talks, continued illegal actions and slightly injured themselves with one-off razors while using it against the jail employees: “In accordance with the current legislation, those prisoners were provided first aid and were isolated from other prisoners. The situation at jail #17 is stable now.”

The Penitentiary service in future, the actions aiming at disrupting the situation at jails and detention centers and will be strongly prevented.

The fact is being investigated.
