National Security Ministry prevents smuggling of 24 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan

The Ministry of National Security Public Relations Center told APA that 9 people suspected of committing these illegal acts were arrested.

During the inspections, more than 10 kg of heroin, 11 kg 881 grams of opium, 1 kg of hashish, 720 grams of heroin and approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine synthetic drugs were revealed.

Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of National Security launched criminal cases on all facts under articles 206.3.2 (smuggling of narcotics group of persons by prior collusion), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (manufacture, acquisition, storage, shipment, or sale for the illicit manufacture and processing of drugs by prior collusion) of the Criminal Code. Azerbaijani citizens - Hsseynov Shahsseyn Sarkhan, Ganbarov Ilkin Beyeli, Hagverdiyev Vasif Abbas, Dadashov Ilgar Khanhseyn, Hasanov Hasan Turab, Aliyev Elshan Islam, Ibadov Rahid Ibad oÄŸlu, Amanov Vugar Balash and Aliyev Ehtiram Dedekishii were sentenced to pre-trial detention by the court.

Investigation and operations are underway to determine other participants of the illegal acts.
