The joint statement issued by the Prosecutor General's Office and Interior Ministry says that residents of Goychay town Asef Guliyev and his wife Afag Guliyev were found dead with traces of violence on their bodies on March 1. The bodies were examined, material evidence was taken, necessary measures were taken.
The regional prosecutor's office launched criminal case on the fact on article 120.7 (killing two or more persons) of the Criminal Code.
The initial investigation found out that the murder was committed for money by Goychay residents Musa Ahmadov and Nijat Mustafayev.
Both men were detained as suspects in Masalli region.
Some of the items robbed were found in Mustafayev's house.
Investigation is underway.
