Medical officer of Main Military Clinical Hospital of Azerbaijan Armed Forces arrested over death of soldier Eldar Novruzov - <span style="color: red;">EXCLUSIVE

APA reports that Adigozalov has been sentenced to imprisonment for 3 years 6 months under the judgement of the court. The court also passed a decision on fining him AZN 500. Dissatisfied with the judgement, Adigozalov appealed to Baku Court of Appeal. Currently, his appeal is being heard at the Court of Appeal.

The parents of Eldar Novruzov, who died on September 29, 2012, told media that Vasif Adigozalov wrongly diagnosed their son and he died. Thereafter, Military Prosecutor’s Office started investigations on the fact. However, Adigozalov did not admit the charges.

Eldar Novruzov, drafted from Sumgayit, served at the military unit in Mingechaur. The soldier, who faced serious health problems after nose operation, died at the Heydar Aliyev international airport in Baku while being taken to Turkey’s Gulhane Military Medical Academy.

V. Adigozalov has faced charges under articles 313 (abuse of power), #341.1 (abusing by chief or official of authority or service position, excess of authority or service powers) and # 342.2 (negligent attitude to duties) of the Criminal Code.
