Baku – APA. The Judicial-Legal Council has today held the next meeting. The Council told APA that Fikrat Mammadov, chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council and Minister of Justice, addressed the meeting.
The chairman said that Ilham Aliyev has made one more achievement in the glorious history of Azerbaijan with his reelection as president and ensured a reliable guarantee for the sustainable and dynamic development.
It was said at the meeting that the recent progressive judicial reforms have had profound impact on the efficiency of justice, a number of irregularities and negative cases were decisively prevented. It was also emphasized that principally assessing the judges’ activities, over the last three years, 30 judges were dismissed from the judicial system for gross violations, cases leading to corruption, as well as ethics violation.
At the same time, significant issues put forward by the Head of State in his speech during the inauguration and the duties of the Council in this sphere were discussed, additional measures were determined for improving judicial activity, strengthening fight against corruption and bribery, observing the requirements of Code of Ethics by judges and eliminating the cases resulted in their right discontent.
Moreover, the execution of disciplinary case launched against Hasan Aliyev, a judge of Baku Court of Grave Crimes, under the order dated 04.09.2013 of the Judicial-Legal Council was considered at the meeting and it was decided to prematurely terminate his authority for gross violations, cases leading to corruption, violation of the requirements of Code of Ethics, behavior harming the image of justice and judge.
